STATEMENT
My work gives form to what ordinarily remains silent. It explores the lingering effects of challenges and the ways they shape the body, influence behavior, and transform our relationship to the world.
Nature provides a laboratory for observing strategies of adaptation and resilience, whether in roots that carve their way through asphalt or in organisms that rely on camouflage for protection, like mimetic insects blending into leaves and bark. These behaviors inspire a sculptural language that makes perceptible the memory and traces inherent in matter.
From these observations, materials drawn from domestic architecture serve as analogies for self-reconstruction: the self-healing properties of Corten steel, the conductivity of brass, or the porosity of concrete become metaphors for the human condition. Repurposed from their original functions and combined with heterogeneous materials, they reflect the complexity of human interactions, revealing tensions, unstable equilibria, and dynamics of presence and absence. The repetition of similar forms suggests continuity interwoven with variation, evoking memory and the transformations inscribed over time.
These forms structure a sensitive space in which they confront and dialogue with one another, making the fragility of each interaction perceptible. The materiality and spatiality of the elements testify to the persistence, adaptation, and resilience present both in matter and human experience. The work thus fosters reflection on memory and transformation, linking matter, body, and space through a sculptural language that renders the invisible and the silent tangible, while revealing the complex and often imperceptible dynamics that shape our relationship to the world.
