STATEMENT
My work gives form to what ordinarily remains silent. It explores the lingering presence of experiences and the ways in which they imprint themselves on the body, shape our behaviors, and transform our relationship with the world.
Nature acts as a laboratory for observing strategies of adaptation and resilience. Roots forcing their way through asphalt, the living’s capacity to regenerate, or to conceal itself through mimicry, inspire a sculptural language in which matter retains the traces of its metamorphoses. These phenomena become metaphors for our own adjustments, revealing how we learn to coexist with that which transforms us.
Building on these observations, I explore materials derived from domestic architecture as sensitive extensions of the body and analogies for the reconstruction of the self. The self-healing of Corten steel, the conductivity of brass, or the porosity of concrete evoke states of passage, tension, and recomposition. Removed from their original function and brought into dialogue with heterogeneous materials, they reveal the complexity of human interactions and the memory embedded within matter. The repetition of similar forms acts like a breath, a continuity inhabited by variation, marked by time and transformation.
Through my work, I offer a space for dialogue in which fragility becomes an active force. By articulating forms, volumes, and rhythms, I explore processes of transformation and adaptation inscribed in matter. Each surface bears the trace of contact, displacement, or resistance, revealing the persistence of life within what appears inert. This research interrogates the continuity between matter and the human, establishing sculpture as a place of observation and experience of the dynamics of memory, adjustment, and coexistence that shape our engagement with the world.
