STATEMENT
When you're little, you want to be like everyone else. But when you're different, the quest for identity takes on a whole new dimension. Looking beyond conventions and rules, I rethink the genesis of knowledge outside the expected norms, such as the primacy given to linguistic expression. I question the outcome of this creative process and how it can integrate various registers of expression. My research aims to deconstruct relational boundaries to free us from social constraints and preconceived neurological biases, thus creating space for this difference. In essence, I challenge the stereotypical perception of the human by revealing a rich world beyond labels.
Integrating my research into public art celebrates neurodiversity and opens up "fertile ground for thinking about this relationship to difference" (Erin Manning, 2019). It becomes the place where our relationship with space is experienced as an extension of the body, where our connection with the outside world manifests itself and invites us to reflect on how we cohabit, while questioning our own materiality.
